we as a country have developed more farmland in the past twenty years that we can't supply our nations complete food needs in America alone which in my book is a serious homeland security issue. no.2 is oil and energy products we are a hostage to the oil producing nations to whom we keep spitting in their face and saber rattling with, there will be a lot of sh()ting and crying when they shut us off or double the price just for our arrogance

It is a sad truth, but in less than 60 years most of the Western world's population has lost its survival skills which had taken generations to develop and perfect. During the Y2K debacle I joined a group of would-be Home Steaders who were scared to death that they were going to perish at the stroke of mid-night when everything would disappear in a vapor of chaos. I was a real eyeopener to see how very little many of them knew about their own survival. Far too many base their very survival on a daily trip to the grocery store, failing to lay in any kind of preparation against even a snow storm. Folks will buy a multi-thousand dollar toy but never consider the purchase of an $800.00 generator which might save their home or their life.
