Re: [DIY] 30" gap between wall n shower wall

>> I had the bathroom side closed off and a door
put in from the hallway side. It became a broom/vacuum closet. Much more
efficient use of the space, and much easier to access whatever was in it.

We did exactly the same thing with our last house.  The wall that faced the laundry room became a storage closet for the 30' vac hose, with an outlet for quick pickups in that area of the house without dragging the hose to a central outlet.  That gave us a 12" space in the bathroom, mirrored the top p0rtion for toiltries  and a cabinet on the bottom for towels. Excellent use of space!  Learned this from our contractor in CA, he centered the tub in one bathroom and gave us built-in cabinets at either end.  Wish they'd done something similar in this house, lots of wasted space.  Since both bathrooms have double sinks and 8' mirrors i'm thinking of putting a glass shelf near the bottom of the mirror. I think you can attach them with some type of adhesive??
