Yes, you can use acrylic latex to glaze windows. You will also find that it does not loosen nor fall out over time letting windows rattle and that they also stay sealed. Use the masking tape as I suggested and you will have near perfectly glazed windows. Smooth out the latex with a damp finger instead of using a putty knife. You will not however get those nice sharp corners like you can with putty but "who cares" as no one looks that close so as to notice anyway. Oh and BTW it wipes off with water and a damp rag until it sets, just one little added advantage, plus of course you don't get those gummy palms from working the putty until it has just the right consistency. With a little practice you will quickly learn just how much you need to trim the tip to apply just the right amount of caulking.
