Re: [DIY] coloring shoes

Can't speak specifically to your problem since I don't know what type of shoe it is. A crack sounds like leather or patent. If they are fabric, Design Master used to be the go-to solution.  Now, I would think Annie Sloan might be the answer.  It will cover anything with minimal, if any, preparation. The down side is that if you don't have any on hand, even the small samples cost a few dollars.  Goes a long way though.  Is it possible to just paint the crack with an acrylic paint and tiny artists brush? I would stay away from anything as strong as alcohol or acetone - maybe a drop of Dawn?

Does anyone know what can be used instead of the prescribed brand of "color preparer"  to  prepare a white shoe for spraying with a brand of color spray?  Like I was thinking acetone or alcohol maybe.  The purpose is to remove wax dirt and grease before spraying on color. It is for a small crack on the shoe and I didn't want to spend that much on it if not necessary.  In fact I have never polished the shoe so maybe "preparer" is not even necessary.

Comments appreciated!
