They usually don't lock or seal as well as a standard door, but if you are happy with the appearance why not.

We need to purchase several doors, one being an entry door for the south side of our home, which opens into a courtyard. We found a door, that is exactly what we want, and it looked so impressive and solid I was surprised to learn it was a storm door. Could it be installed and used as our regular door, without a second door, or is there a reason they must be installed over a regular entry door? I suspect locks might be one reason?
