Is there some sort of sealer application to the area that would create a barrier ??? Would applied crushed charcoal take away the smell?

Flat_Land Dale~~~~~~An extra heater kerosene pipe line was mistakenly cut and undetected for over a week, leaked 1 gal or a bit more of the fluid into a wall and traveled the pipe line diagonly down to the second-story room with stain on the inside wall and subfloor. How long will it take for that smell to go away? For someone hypersensitive to smells this has forced a relocation.
