So as much as I want tile, I believe that berber carpet is the best way for me to go.

Since I am working towards selling or renting it, it might be better if I bought berber carpeting, which is cheaper to install and replace and which might not damage quite as quickly as laminate. and getting tile installed is too, too expensive here because we have to put down a cork sound barrier which adds in to the cost.

In time, though you won't notice it too much, unless the weight is on points like legs. The biggest problem is if you drag furniture on laminate: it'll rip. Same as an out of balance washer on a laminate floor.

Well, once the walls are "done," I'm going to concentrate on the floors, lol! Here's the question: -- if I decide on laminate, what happens when furniture is placed on the laminate? Please don't tell me it stays there. What I want to know is: will furniture that "stays there" make marks on the laminate, meaning if it stays there and it's heavy, like a wall unit, will it make indentations on the laminate, the same way furniture leaves indentations on carpeting?
