Re: [DIY] TV Stuck On Channel 43

I would first try to unhook the cable box from the TV and unplug the TV from the wall.  Then replug the TV back into the wall outlet and see if the channel changes.  If it does, try and proceed with rehooking up the cable box to the TV.

I have an old 27 inch Memorex TV set that I have hooked up to a cable box and a DVD player. Until the other day the picture was OK, but after a power outage the picture had markedly deteriorated (lots of "snow") when I tried to watch cable shows, although the DVD pictures are still fine.

I then discovered that the TV was no longer tuned to Channel 3, as it should be when connected to cable. It's now tuned to Channel 43 and refuses to budge when I try to tune it to Channel 3. I don't have a remote for the TV, but there are buttons on the set that usually allow you to change channels.

I realize that it makes no sense to call in a repair person for such an old TV, but it seems to me that it might be possible to make some sort of adjustment to change the channel back to 3.

Would appreciate any help.
