Our local HD has several lights, table lamps etc, to give you a better idea of what the paint will look like in your home. This might be a time to spend a little on some samples of a couple of paints you like and actually put them on the wall - or as I did, paint a 3'x3' piece of styrofoam board with each color and tacked it to the wall in different places. Sounds like everything is coming along great though. Parrot chewed drapes, sounds a lot like kitten clawed sheers :)
I have the hardest time choosing color for rooms. I like the house
windows open in good weather as I love natural sunlight, but these two
rooms are
shaded in the Summer and colors look so dark in the shade so I had to
choose carefully.
The trouble in the paint store is the lighting is so much brighter
than my home, so colors that look mid-value in the store, make my rooms
look like a cave.
