The easy, but not safe way would be to just place a short across the switch. If it turns on, it is the switch that is bad. If it doesn't, it is probably the remote.
Don't attempt this unless you are comfortable with electricity.

Hello,
I am new here! I have a question regarding wireless lighting. We had an electrician put in a wireless switch for our kitchen and dining room. This is an old house and there was not light switch for these rooms. This was done last April. About a week ago, I went to turn on the kitchen light and got a zap like static electricity. Since then, the switch does not turn on either light.
How do I know if its the light switch itself or the remote unit in my dining room light?
Thank you,
Lisa
