[DIY] Re: bathroom remodel questions

Hi Renee,

I have replaced the shower valves in my apartment (3 full baths)and used Delta. I am extremely happy with them. I installed a multichoice universal valve. This type of valve allows me to use the least expensive trim (chrome)(with a single function pressure balanced cartridge) now, and I can upgrade to a dual function or thermastatic cartridge later with more expensive trim! This choice was important because if I want to upgrade in 10 years, all I have to do is buy a new cartridge and trim. I don't have to pull the valve out of the wall.

I believe that Delta sells the valve and trim separately. If your tub/shower choice comes prepackaged (as may be the case in a big box store) make sure that the valve (rough) is multi-choice, because if it isn't, you may have to pull the valve (rough) out of the wall if you want to change the style later. You can start with an inexpensive chrome style now and upgrade to venetian bronze later.

Call Delta faucet with specific questions. I hope this helps.
