Something like this ought to work. Its for a chemical toilet, the kind for camping or emergencies. It breaks up solid waste and makes it smell like perfumed s#*t. Fairly cheap too. I had to setup a portable toilet when I tiled my only bathroom many years ago. Not a pleasant experience but was better than not having a toilet. It used a bottle of green liquid, don't know what it was but it did about the same thing. You should be able to find it with camping supplies.

We have a different situation from a normal sewer line. The previous owner repaired the sewer line and ran it around the back porch. THis is a duplex so the arrangement is a little weird. Needless to say, the line is almost level; so I consider it no better than a non porous holding tank. We have had trouble with back-ups so I started putting in sulphuric acid monthly. I then changed to rid-ex thinking it would be better. I haven't had any problems since the monthly treatments, but I was wondering if there was something I could put in to be sure most of the waist items is dissolved. This is not our property but we take care of it and the lady who owns it doesn't want to put money into it for preventive action despite the fact that I tell her it's better than paying a bunch of money for repairs.

It gets there from washing dishes. Most foods has some sort of grease in them.
