Re: [DIY] Mold on Drywall

Mold resistant drywall has a chemical in it that prevents mold, etc.

Cleraning off the mold with Borax destroys the mold. Google

I had a toilet pipe break off in my first floor bathroom (which is very small) when I was gone and flooded half of the first floor. When I got back, there was over an inch of water on the floor and mold had already started.

I finally got the mess cleaned up and had the plumber in who said that I would have to have the drywall replaced even though I had washed down the walls.

Is this correct, or would something Kilz work and then have it repainted? The drywall does not seem to be soft.

Thanks for your input.
