Re: [DIY] Ants

I strayed the basement and around the foundation with a strong solution of Malathion and that got rid of the problem.

You know, now I am not even sure it's a citronella ant. I assumed it, but these ants are not yellow.

Has anyone tried anything different than boric acid?

I had the same experience that dry boric acid doesn't seem to work on
ants. It works extremely well on any other insect, especially cockroaches.
Mixing boric acid with some water, sugar or fat and using it as a bait,
might work. Maybe try mixing it with what you see them going after.
