Re: [DIY] Dishwsher

I cannot offer specific directions but I can tell you our recent experience with a similar problem on a 4 year old kitchenaid dishwasher.  We have a service contract with Sears for it.  The tech took things apart to get to the pump.  I believe the problem was the intake to the pump.  They found a small piece of plastic food wrapper and a mess of food particles.  Basically the pump could not do its job to move water through the arms in the dishwasher.

All they did was take things apart to get to the clog and clean it out.  The dishwasher is now cleaning "like new".

We have never hand-washed or rinsed dishes before sticking them in the dishwasher, because that was not necessary.  Its a very good dishwasher.  Probably the piece of plastic was the main culprit, but the tech advised us to at least scrape off large food particles before putting them in the dishwasher.

I have another project.  Our dishwasher does not get dishes clean anymore.  I cleaned out the drains and it still does not clean dishes.  Any suggestions?  It is a GE GSD 28001G01.

Thanks
