I have a plumbing puzzlement. My water is pumped from a well into a pressure tank and then through a water softening system. The pressure tank maintains between 36 and 60 pounds pressure. This system is 15 years old. Normal maintenance has occurred over the years such as replacing the hat water heater and replacing the kitchen faucet.
Occasionally (maybe once or twice a week) I will open the faucet at the kitchen sink and have no water. Every other faucet in the house will work just fine and have an abundance of water at normal pressure. Sometimes opening another faucet will start water flowing at the kitchen faucet. Sometimes after waiting a few minutes the kitchen faucet will start flowing.
Each time this occurs when the kitchen faucet starts flowing again it flows all at once with normal pressure. It does not appear that there is air in the water lines.
This is becoming a real irritant. Any thoughts on the cause?
