I have a rear carrier that I intend to connect to the adapter.  The carrier probably weighs 50 pounds so I can only carry a 150 pound payload but that should be enough.  Don't know what effect the wind will have on this setup.  I could make some cardboard panels to fill the gap from car to package but that could backfire.

Will test for a short run before the actual trip.
