Re: [DIY] Silestone.

We've had Silestone for over 10 years and haven't had any problems with heat however common sense prevails.  Any
very hot item on a cold surface can affect it so we make it a habit of putting a hot pad down before
putting anything directly out of the oven or burners on the surface.

Having said that, our daughter has "accidentally" put a hot pan on the counter and nothing happened.  We really like it. Low
maintenance (like zero) unlike granite which requires a sealer periodically and Silestone comes in just about any color you can imagine.

Silestone is basically a quartz...has it been resistant to heat..like putting a pan
just off the stove onto it? We have tile now for 20 uyears and been great...but always
fear that hot pot will crack one..never has (yet!) LOL

We are looking at new house with just installed Silestone and realtor thought it did
not do well with heat..but other stuff as you say
