[DIY] Re: Furnace Help

Are you saying that the blower stays on AFTER a heating cycle has completed when the burner goes off?

If so, it almost has to be the main control circuit board. Almost ALL furnaces built within the last 20 years have such a circuit board. New ones can often be obtained on eBay for $75 to $150 dollars. Go on eBay with your furnace's make and model number. Obviously a local HVAC can also obtain for you, at about double the price.  Unlike older furnaces where the blower was controlled by a simple thermostatic fan switch mounted on the furnace's heat exchanger, furnaces such as yours use the circuit board to electronically time the fan cycle. The circuit board also has other functions such as turning on the main gas valve and keeping it on after the flame sensor has "proved" ignition.

While another poster was correct when he stated that you should look for an error code in the diagnostic light, such an internal circuit board fault may not show up as an error code.

Good luck!
