Re: [DIY] OK, now the photos

I think it needs to be said that this would have been a very simple fix before this guy painted over the uneven surfaces. Filling holes in drywall is not rocket science. So this guy has taken something that most homeowners fix themselves with very little skill( and this is not a dig on you, since you are physically unable to do the work), and turned it into a real pain to fix.

Anyway, so once again, my questions, in order of important to me, are:

should I go over the entire wall with paint?
should I apply a faux finish to it, perhaps speckling it without first painting it again?
should I apply a faux finish to it after painting over the wall again?
should I drywall it?
or should I just give up and leave it and hope I can sell or rent it anyway? I mean, who would rent it that way? I wouldn't. So perhaps skim coat would be easier than replacing drywall?

LOLOL -- I'm a bit way off from Tampa -- but thank you -- I AM continuing to read many of these posts to my husband, he seems to be listening, lol. After I try to fix the job this man did, and am finding I"m not doing too well in fixing it, lol, I didn't want MORE work, but anyway, yes, I will be talking to our 'friend,' asking him these "annoying" questions ... I would love to have the drywall put in, but you know what? I'm afraid to have him do more work...lol, especially putting in the drywall.

Yeah, if the guy didn't know that painting over that would make it ridiculously more difficult to fix that after painting I'd pay him minimum wage/hour for his time. Seriously. I'll be in Tampa next week. Want me to drive down and have a chat with your "friend?"

I did take photos. One is in the daylight before I fixed it up somewhat, so you can see the awful job done. The second is one I took today after I sanded and repainted yesterday. Doesn't look much better, you can still see difference, I don't think I can leave it this way right now. I took this picture with a flashlight, applying your suggestions. Please look and give me your opinions if you have the time at "Clean_boost" album in the photo section, thanks.
