Yes ... it's a sad commentary, and I learned this a while back when people considered being a superintendent of an apartment building as a rotten lowlife job, as if it was an embarrassment. Once I reached the age of mental maturity and wisdom I realized that it was a FINE job, one to be respected if the person holding it was respectable, it was not a job to be scoffed at or sniffed at. People are interesting, to say the least. Anyway, maybe this was a lesson for him, we all need lessons in life to do better. But I do agree with you -- few kids are used to using their hands to work hard.
