I tried googling it but did not get any good answers; kind of similar to the man that hops on springs to reach the hard parts of the ceiling. When I've calmed down from all this raucous merriment, I would like to find out more about paint hoppers (not hopping) because I was reading about a particular type of paint that could be used in a hopper and so that's why I asked. Yes ... boy am I dumb, and especially dumb for asking...lol.
Your explanation makes sense based on the website about a particular paint where they said you can first paint the wall and then go over it with a hopper, supposedly with the same paint. I'm going to speak to a retailer tomorrow about it, not too many carry it. (Daitch paints. They offer a very, very thick paint or high coverage that is supposed to have remarkable coverage and I was checking it out, called Vertistone or Spreadstone, and it is made in Canada, it is also very expensive.)

A paint hopper is a funnel device which attaches to a spray nozzle to hold texture compound to be spray painted onto a surface. Google it to see all about it.
