Now that it's been explained, I can certainly understand why a paint hopper would hop from paint to paint.

I suppose next you are gong to tell me they have quit making checkerboard and poka-dot paint rollers, just when my wife had finally decided on her new decor.

They are spring type attachment that painters clamp to their shoes if they can't quite reach a ceiling that they are painting. They then hop up, roller in position, and roll some paint on the ceiling with each hop. Not in common use anymore. Ed
