Re: [DIY] Repairs Needed!!

I've been having the same problem, complicated by a severely sprained ankle.
Wanted to go work on the house and couldn't, thanks to the injury. After 2
1/2 months, I was finally able to go down stairs normally a couple days ago.
The ankle's still sore and lets me know how badly I injured it, so all's not
back to normal yet. But it's getting there.

This morning, I hauled my behind out and over to the rehab house and
cleaned...swept the floor bagged debris and managed to get some bags of old
plaster down the stairs from the second floor. Ummm...even double bagging
with the Hefty puncture resistant bags (the white kitchen bags, because I
will not bag any more than I can lift and plaster is HEAVY), most of the
bags split when they hit the bottom. Tossing down the stairs is not a good
idea. Many are now triple bagged. So I dug out a piece of panelling I
pulled off the wall, cut 16 inch wide pieces the length of the panelling,
and made a slide. Took two pieces to make the full length of the stairs.
When I'm done sliding the bags of debris down the stairs, I can flip the
slide up against the wall and out of the way. I'll try it out this
afternoon and let you all know how it works.

For now, it's lunch time. And time for some pain killers because my old
body is protesting. LOL

Oh, and because I haven't updated in a while, the house now has heat! The
furnace guy came and did his thing not long after I injured my ankle.
