Dale in the Flat Lands,
Do not succumb to the tugging of the grave! Staying in a chair is the first seduction.
Get out there and take as many walks as you can activate.
On those walks, take as many rests as needed and breathe deeply, remind your mind that all of what you see is still available to you.
If you have trouble getting up from the floor, then get down and then up again at least 4 times a day to keep the sequence of muscles in tune to their demands.
Don't Quit!!!! Keep moving those arthritic feet, flex those stiff hands and finger joints.
Stretch a few times every day... REALLY stretch!
Get a nice middle-aged dog. Walk it. Allow it to be your obligation, friend and confidant.
carmen, who is also fighting too many birthdays, but I keep dancing, and walking, and pulling weeds, and doing chain saw tree maintenance..
I have such an appreciation of power tools at this time of my life

Many folks have been so helpful in the past that perhaps someone can tell me where I can acquire a couple of needed repairs.
My Umphilator/generator appears to be a bit sluggish of late in that I can't produce the Umph I used to have, and I also seem to be suffering from a mild but persistent case of Dogitis because every time I finish eating I want to curl up in front of the fire and take a nap.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, and don't try to tell me I'm getting old, because I know for a fact that my rapid approach toward 80 is not nearly as old as it used to be.
