Why anyone in their right mind would texturize a bathroom is a mystery. Sanding would be the only solution other than plastering over and that is also going to be a lot of work.
Maybe there is a thin paneling that is available.
I also am having to come up with a bathroom solution to heavily textured heavy vinyl wallpaper that was put over an original plaster wall. The paper will not steam off nor is it easily sanded off.
Such is the joys of an older home.

I am trying to remodel my bathroom, but there is a major glitch. The previous owners painted the walls with some serious texturing. So much texturing one would not want to accidentally bump into the wall for fear of being scratched up where the paint significantly sticks out from the wall into a point. I have tried sanding the paint down, but this is taking an incredibly long time to do and the paint dust is everywhere. Short of replacing the drywall altogether, what are my other options?
