[DIY] Re: auto failures

He's already checked the lemon laws and says they only apply to new cars here in WA.  The first problem happened after maybe a year, the second after about 2 years.

Check with your state's consumer protection agency and see what laws are in place concerning "lemons".  They should spell out criteria and processes to follow to get rid of a lemon.

Hello DIY persons.  My husband has had two failures on a car he bought 2 years ago.  Last time the transmission conked out on an errand some blocks from home.  They actually sent the transmission overseas to study the failure, got it back all fixed up.  Now lately, while driving the car in unusually fine snow and slightly higher elevation than usual, the air filter packed up with snow and the car would only drive at very low speed.  Had to clean the filter by the side of the freeway to get going.  We're wondering, should he go all out and write the CEO for replacement car?  or bring to dealer and start asking for replacement at that level? ........OR..........??

Thank you,

Ally
