OK, the glass man was here this morning to install the window over the doors so we can now lock the right hand door in place and use the left one to go in and out.  Used some silicone and from the inside we can open and close the door, even slide the deadbolt.  The problem now, other than the fact we have no key, is the exterior lever seems to be broken.  It will turn but not activate the mechanism, so if you're in the barn and the door closes you can't get back in.  Since the interior lever works fine, would I be correct to assume it's something on the inside of the lever assembly itself - rather than the entire lock? In the closeup on the right you can see the lever is loose but it can't be tightened from the outside.  We can unscrew the decorative faceplates and the lock assembly but I'm hesitant to remove it - afraid it will come apart and we'd not be able to get it back together. :)
