Re: [DIY] Whole house water filters

Thanks to all who responded with your experiences and knowledge.  It gives us a great place to start from.  When we purchased the property we had a complete well test and everything came in within the accepted range, which doesn't give a whole lot of information.  The university extension will do soil and water samples for $30 +- so think I will start there.  As I've said before, knowing what questions to ask and alternatives makes a big difference.  Thanks again.

I will agree with "yoga"......I installed two of these filters under my kitchen
sink. connected to my cold water line, with washing machine rubber hose....
The longer hose allowed me to remove the entire "set-up" from under the
sink in order to replace the filters, when needed......Flushing your hot water
heater once a year will extend its life and remove any residue......Pumps
