I have only had a client use them once. The best I remember,the did not look too noticeable. If there is a deep enough pile, it should be fine. His were fairly low pile. He got them from Habitat For Humanities resell store. Perhaps that is why some wholesaler donated them, because they were not good enough to sell well.

I've read reviews that they look like a solid carpet when down, if you follow the directional nap — also that they look like squares of carpet, different shades etc. Have you actually put them down? There is nothing wrong with carpet tiles if the individual squares look is OK with you. You have no extra costs involved such as padding, glue, tack strips, or labor (other than sweat equity). Also, you can replace individual tiles if they get stained.
