>Hi, I've bleached out some stains in a 35 year old counter top in the kitchen and was wondering what I could put on it to help keep it from staining so easily. I try to wipe up coffee stains and food coloring stains but I have to be quick.
Hmm... For *tile,* I use the GREEN bottled TileLabs product.
Costs 2x the yellow bottle, which cocts 2x BrandX, but application
is once and works FAR better.
I use 409 for some stains. W/formica, you may have just
scratches? Dunno. I take mild risks, so with the stove off,
I might soak the counter with mineral oil (water soluable,
used on breadboards, or olive oil? No, could go rancid in
time... Maybe an oil, like turpentine, kerosone, c'mon guys,
what's a thin oil that a FEW folkls don't dislike the smell,
and could be said to be safer?
>Also is there any stain or paint that will let me decorate white ceramic tile without firing to seal in the color? carmen s.
Enamel model cars paints, but any surface paint is subject
to wear! There is contact paper etc, cut patterns?
If #D is ok (on a wall?) Then add deco tiles atop with epoxy.
Pre-clean mebe w Acetone. (VENTILATION!) or TSP.

It IS dead. That's the whole reason you posted! <BWG!>
Hey, I used to use old starter parts to remake my own.
Save your junked starter mebe...
