may not even be a vented unit: see if you can find a manufacturer and model #. may also need to trace the route if vented, check for loose joints or crushed ductwork. if the installer used plastic vent, replace it for safety reasons-can't take the heat.

have a builder grade fan (which in and of itself may be the problem) that did not seem to pull the smoke out when self cleaning the oven yesterday. i went outside in the late PM early twilight and couldn't see any smoke from the stack. there was plenty in the house, no breeze, had windows open to allow air flow. no name unit, single speed, single bulb unit. not a happy camper, needless to say!
