Hi Carmen, we had a discussion on wasps - probably last summer - on the list. You might do a search of the archives, seems like I remember a lot of solutions were offered, although I don't know if birds were considered. We don't have ground wasps here but have - yellow jackets? Mud Daubers? They build nests in every conceivable place -- even inside a decorative bird house we have on the patio and as soon as it gets warm they all hatch. They are aggressive and I'm allergic to all stings so we destroy them ASAP. Hubby too uses a spray, one that has a 10' stream. Bees are another story, they love the flowers especially my lavender and I hate to kill even one of them. Makes me think they might have a batch of lavender honey around someplace :)
How to safely get rid of a ground nest.
