Re: [DIY] Re: Unlevel sill

Its not expensive so I'd get two boxes.  You can mix it as runny as you need.  Have your putty knife or trowel ready as you will not have a lot of time to shape and smooth once it starts to set.

Found the product at the Wally World site.  I have to fill the area under the sill.  It goes from zero to 1/2 inch from side to side.

So I figure the area is 1/4 times 32 times 6 or 48 square inches.

Will the one pound box do the job?

How runny is this stuff?  It would be nice to feed it under the sill from inside the garage and let it flow out under the sill until it hits a chunk of wood that I will place outside to hold the flow - I hope.

Thanks

No because it doesn't get that hot and sets so fast.  You'd have to have a large mass to really cause a problem.

Any local stores?  Will the heat be a problem under the sill?

It is a powder, and expands as it sets.  It is stronger than concrete and is actually often used to set heavy equipment anchors.  Rockite is similar to the hydraulic cement used by the Romans over 2000 years ago and much of it is still in place even though having been under water for all those years.  It also get very hot and must be handled with care.  I have bonded and repaired stucco with it and the coating is still in place.

Local Menards did not have any Rockite.  They suggested a lot of stuff.  Is this a powder?  Or does it come in a tube?

Rockite works well for these types of problems.  Sets up in about 10 minutes, expands as it sets and is stronger than the original concrete.
