Re: [DIY] light?

Not sure what you mean by a bar light Frank, something like a fluorescent tube? If you really want a long bar, you could use the ones that are made to go under upper cabinets,  maybe hide it behind a plant etc. https://www.amazon.com/Fulight-Dimmable-Rotatable-Double-End-Powered/dp/B06XNMT5MN/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&qid=1499068706&sr=8-32&keywords=tube+light+for+under+upper+cabinets

Can lights will give a general uplight, hanging lights that plug into the wall and attach to the ceiling with a hook - remember the swag chains? - are popular again.  Amazon.com & Ikea both have some unusual lighting fixture. There are some wall lamps (sconces) that pull out. We bought a floor lamp from Amazon a few years ago for a dark corner, it stands in the corner behind a chair but has 5 lights that extend out into the room; perfect for reading light, and has a dimmer, we love it.  They are available in many different styles,
