Re: [DIY] Nails

About the only place I still use nails is finish brads on cabinets, and these are backed up with glue.  The newer headless brads are great for holding cabinet trim until the glue sets, and are almost invisible.  I prefer deck screws with torx heads, they cost a bit more but the driver does not slip and you don't to hold pressure to drive them.

I use screws. Drywall screws are durable and hold more securely. For me, nails are temporary. If a project needs long term stability under damp conditions, I use anodized.

When does one use nails over screws? I understand screws are more durable than nails but nails are finer and disappear into the wood as screws dont, and i realize galvanized is weather safe but SSteel is even more so but more $$$. Thats all I understand- dont get when I should use one or the other . Considering shelving boxes at this point.
