Re: [DIY] Toilet Stains and Shaw's Pads

The toilet is now shiney white!

Last week I used a pumice stone and removed some of the bliue stains and lightened the blue line that was around the bowl at thw water level.

My finger told me that there was a lime build up in the bowl, and years of using those awful blue tablets in the tank had caused the lime build up to turn blue.

This morning I dropped in 2 Efferdent tablets ans swished the water around a few times during an hour. The water level was about 1/4 inch under the line and there was no way to raise the water level and have it stay there.

I flushed the toilet and squirted in a lot of Lime Away....swished the water around a few times over the next 1/2 hour.

I then used a soaked pumice stone and scrubbed ....A LOT

Eventually I remoived all of the lime and now thw bowl is sparkley clean.

Makes me wonder how the cleaning ladies over the years cleaned that toilet.

OK Group,

After reading about these new fandangled Shaw's Pads on the group emails, I thought I would give them a try at removing hard water stains from around the toiled rim. I must say that they wourk on minimal calcium deposits but do not function adequately on heavy calcium deposits. I'll use them up but they don't meet my needs. It is back to pumice stone for me.

Just thought you would like my comparison to finsih this thread.
