looking for recycle, up-purpose, (or whatever the
  current phrase might be) suggestions:
  
  10+ year old front loading washing machine dying, about to be
  replaced with top loader (the consumer level
  front loaders were essentially junk, and did
  not deliver on the promise of water efficiency).
  
  The appliance repair guy, after the 3rd visit to this
  beast said "If you don't want to see me frequently, when it dies
  again, get a whirlpool top loader".
  
  Probably just pay to haul the old one away, unless
  someone can suggest valuable components inside
  that might be scavenged first.
  
  I'm not thrilled with just turning it into landfill fodder,
  but SHMB does not want a dead washer sitting in the
  yard either.
