may have missed some postings: what type of extensions did you go with? if you are using metal box extensions, they need to be installed before tiling; if you are using the plastic insulating type rings, they can be installed after tiling during installation of tile. the metal extensions look like a box with no back.

I'm making creeping progress on this project.
Do I install the extension boxes before or after tiling the backsplash?
I was going to do it before, but am not certain exactly how to account for
the depth of the tile--seems like it would be easiest to mount them after
the tile is in place, but maybe there's something I don't know?
