I            know this is not what you wish to hear, but in all probability            it is not worth the cost of a service call.  It will slide out            into the room and a new one can be installed in its place, but            make sure you measure the window before buying to be sure it            will fit.  You will in all probability need either help in            installation or buy from a dealer that includes installation            in the price.

It's below a window, in my upper floor condo so the outside is not accessible. Will the tech more likely pull the unit into the room, or remove the wide windowsill?
