Re: [DIY] Garage Door Opener

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your help. Ive seemed to fix it by adjusting a couple of plastic screws on it that were labeled KG (Could that mean the force in Kilograms?). I believe that was the force adjuster. I was not able to find the manual because it seems the opener is too old (13 years). While I was up there I noticed that the travel was all screwed up as well. In the open stage it was actually pushing a beam right in the center of the garage and compromising it. Moreover, it was not sealing tightly in the closed position. So a couple of screw adjustments fixed  both those issues.

Anyway, does anyone know if those plastic screws was indeed the force adjusters? I beleive my track alignment was ok, because in a test, I pressed close and helped it along a little bit, and it would shut. This led me to believe a little increase in force would correct the problem.

I would recommend silicon spray lube. That's what I found works the best.

Hi Experts.

I have a garage door issue. The garage door opener will open the garage door. But when it tries to close it, it pushes it about 2 feet and then pulls it back to the open position.

I did check the sensor. I know nothing is blocking it, because the sensor's green light is on. I know when something blocks it, the green light goes off.

So I disconnected the opener in the open position, and manually pushed the door down. It felt kind of difficult to push it along.

I am wondering if, in this case, the track would need to be lubricated, or the wheels on the door need to be lubricated?

If so, what would I use and how would I apply it?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Frank
