can you cut the 6x6 1-1/2" deep and 4" down on each side of the rotten section so that the outside 2x6's overlap the original center section and put a long bolt all the way thru? if you are replacing the 6x6 above the rotten section you can have the center 2x6 4" shorter than the other two; if splicing the 6x6 and removing the rotten section to keep the top section in place, you would want to do the "finger joint" on both sides of the splice for strength, like interlacing your fingers on each hand. use multiple bolts for splices so splice can't hinge!

I try to find pressure post 6 by 6 but most have split or knot
I try cutting 6 by 6 post it very difficult so
I am thinking of getting three 2 by 6 to make a post
A 2 by 6 lumber is easy to cut with circular saw
