Sorry for delay, thx for tips, as I read here it seems screws are best for most in/ out projects whereas drywall screws, and tiger clamps preferred, and anodized best outdoor. I realize that I can also countersink screws.
My project is indoor and the box shelving is to configure a custom unit that accomodates my childs games and boxes of misc toys, nothing like garage shelving use. I felt the box style would be less "monotone" if you will, and easier to build since I would just be screwing /nailing 4 sides together and attaching them as needed then attaching them to brackets or cleats.
