[DIY] Re: outside security light

What type of bulb does it use? incandescent (standard), mercury vapor, metal halide, high pressure sodium, or low pressure sodium (unlikely)?
The HID types (all listed except incandescent) will go off and on when they are going bad. Has any other light source changed as to shinning on the photocell at night? When you changed the photocell, were the slots it plugged into clean (not burnt)? I was assuming the photocell is the 3 prong twistlock type.

Sometimes it is on for an hour or so , then it cycles on and off several times over sevral minutes. I have replaced the bulb and the photo cell within the past year.
