In addition the mfgr is aware that there is a voltage drop the longer
the extension cord and smaller the extension cord wire.
So the mfgr is also protecting against low voltage that can cause
the fridge to underperform AND avoid damage that can be done
to the fridge motor.
12 ga is bigger and better than 14ga and shorter is better than longer.
Determine what the minimum distance extension cord you need is
and go to Home Depot and try to match that 1st in 12ga and if not
available then in 14 ga.
10, 15, 25 ft cords are commonly available
