[DIY] Sunroom Roof

We bought a house with a manufactured metal roofed sunroom attached.  Here in Tennessee we have hot days with rain during the summer.  This causes problems.

Ever since we moved in, we've had leaks.  I first went up and siliconed all the places we thought were the source of the leaks. That lasted a couple weeks.  Then we put blackjack on the roof - two coats.  That lasted a few more weeks.  I think what is happening is that when it warms up the roof expands so much, it rips apart the sealing, letting the water drip in.

Right now the roof is leaking and I have another plan: this time I'll put a layer of blackjack followed by rolled asphalt sheeting.  This way, unless it actually rips apart the sheets, I think it'll hold out the water.

Any comments?  Does it sound feasible?  Would anyone have different suggestions?
