Re: [DIY] How to determine the BTUs on a propane cooktop

Thanks everyone, most of your replies are over my head.  We have no natural gas in this area so it's all propane.  The cooktop did come with a conversion kit, Sears doesn't do that so we paid the HVAC contractor who was working here.  Took four hours but most of the time was involved with the actual installation not with the conversion.  The plumbers, the HVAC guys, countertop guys all were working on top of each other for weeks.  Couldn't get this in till they finished and I think it was a tight squeeze for him to get it in, in the cabinet space.  Plus it came with a large vent which would have prevented being able to open and close our barn doors.  Although we don't often use them, we didn't want them removed.  The burners just don't cook as hot as I feel they should.  I was just wondering how or who to call to check it.  The propane company did the final inspection but don't know if they would be the ones to check it.
