I think the best bet is to do the swivel arrangement with
2 support poles in concrete...that is easy to do if you
are at all handy...the most difficult is digging the hole
physically, mentally using a level to make sure your
guide poles are true-vertical.
I like that idea because no antenna I ever put up was
static over the years..something will go wrong, not what
been when! Cable end comes loose after a couple years
you or the rotor has to be replaced..whatever..you will
wish for that easy up and down of the 2 pole swivel...
But again I livein stormy, very windy, wet clime in the
mountains above Yosemite, Ca...
The most interesting install I ever saw was a tv antenna
and rotor up in the top of a 120; (yes 120 foot!) pine
tree...(you measure the height of tree pretty accurately
by pacing off from the bottom until your protractor is
at a 45deg angle from sighting the top of the tree..number
of 1 foot paces is height of tree +- 5 feet...pretty accurate
from when I cut down one after measuring its fall length...
Happy electron gathering,
Rich
