Drains are not under pressure. Thus, some professionals will
not bother with primer when they glue in new pipes. It never
hurts to use primer. Some do not scuff the joining surfaces
properly, or at all. Again... never hurts.
If you dif this out and see problems, you can likely redo it
yourself. Reuse of old pipe is a hassle and a small risk, New
pipe cures THAT. AND add a cleanout, perhaps. That's just an
offset Y and a stub to the surface, etc. The local hardware
guy will help. In your area, adding a "box" for access might
be wise. Ask locally.
Doesn't hurt to get 1-3 bids... then decide.
Ask and take notes for what the bid DOES cover.
And what MIGHT be an issue that the bid DOESN'T cover.
It's a polite way to not get a guy to flim-flam you, and
it is fair on both sides.
