Re: [DIY] Do I want a compressor?

compressors are OK but tend to wear out faster.

Adequately true. But - this seems to be a case of not
someone who KNOWS compre3ssors, or that NEEDS
one, but would LIKE one, now & then. (I have pumped
up car tires with a bicycle pump. 200-600 strokes.
My frame is very average. I started at 14 yrs old. It is
a good thing for a young fella.)

Still, I like to get quality. For me, this is a Porter Cable,
"pancake" [style] compressor. Home Depot & 2 small
nails guns, $150-250. Wait for a sale.

Or, rig an old freon or 5 gal propane tank. Fun lil project.
Add a regulator and gauge. Fill at a gas station. Take
to the beach, where no elec goes. The cig lighter types
are not good for many minutes use. They get hot.

Oil types are not preferred for painting. You won't use
this item much. Blow off a small patio, fast, w/o getting
it wet.. General *old rule* was to get something that has
a dif piston material from cylinder material.

Nice to have. Watch for sales. Craig's list. etc.
